This book is written as a dark fantasy dealing with the subject of domestic abuse. It aims to explain how a young woman becomes attracted to an abuser and how she slowly becomes abused and is powerless to stop it.

The story goes on to show how the young woman is trapped in an abusive relationship, unable to leave at first and when she is able to leave, she inevitably goes back. The story gives a chilling insight into power and control and shows how the abuse continues long beyond physical separation…

Fiona Cavell is a retired Solicitor from Cornwall who specialised in domestic abuse cases. This story is based on her experiences in attempting to help survivors of abuse. Statistically one in four women are abused at some point in their lives. The story portrays abusers as intriguing magical men who can transform into beautiful birds offering a thrilling and fantastic lifestyle. In reality, however, they are cruel sadistic creatures disguising themselves as innocent men, living secretly in our society to prey upon and terrorise women.
